How to list overstock and liquidation stock faster

A practical workflow for turning mixed pallets, returns and seasonal lots into accurate webshop listings without typing every product by hand.

Revised:

Why overstock is hard to list

Overstock and liquidation lots mix hundreds of different products, often with foreign-language packaging, partial information and no supplier data feed. Typing a name, description, category and price for each item is the real bottleneck; it can take longer than receiving the goods. The aim is to move listing work to the warehouse floor and keep only review in the office.

Capture once, at receiving

Photograph the product from the front and its label or packaging text, and scan the barcode. Labels carry valuable facts: EAN, retailer article number, importer, size and material. Record quantity, location and condition (new overstock, customer return, damaged packaging) at the same time, because these are warehouse facts that AI must not guess.

Let AI draft, let people decide

Use AI for what it is good at: reading labels, naming the product, writing a description and proposing a category. Keep humans in charge of what carries risk: the selling price, condition statements and anything the photo cannot prove. A price suggestion should show its source, such as a supplier list, a comparable product or a market check.

Publish in batches, keep quality visible

Publish products that are complete and keep uncertain ones as drafts. Group products into collections that match how customers shop, for example seasonal decor or kitchen, rather than how the pallet arrived. Review a sample of each batch: a few minutes of checking prevents wrong sizes, wrong categories and returns.
